Missions

Our District Missionary   
Our missionary for the 2010-2011 year is Pauline Doll-Wallace, now retired who served in Mozambique and Jamaica. Please keep her in your prayers.

Several key ministries focus on different aspect of the larger mission statement. The biggest of these are:

Nazarene Youth International (NYI)

Nazarene Youth International encompasses membership from young people aged 12–25. 

Missions

The Church of the Nazarene has been committed to obeying the Great Commission since its inception.

Nazarene Missions International (NMI)

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is "the church-relations heart of World Mission within each local church" and "the local-church-based global mobilization and promotional arm of the Church of the Nazarene". The purpose of NMI is to mobilize churches in mission through praying, discipling, giving, and educating.

 JESUS Film

The Church of the Nazarene is an active participant in the Jesus Film Project organizing teams to show the "Jesus Film"  Along with Global Mission (GM) and JESUS Film Harvest Partners (JFHP) we have 351 JESUS Film teams working with missionaries and local leaders, spreading the gospel in 273 languages and in 100 world areas.

Work and Witness

Work and Witness is an endeavor that sends teams of volunteers into cross-cultural situations primarily to construct buildings on the mission field.

Compassionate Ministries "Compassion as a Life-Style"

The Church of the Nazarene's volunteer efforts around the world are instrumental in assisting people in every part of the globe who have been affected by war, famine, hurricane, flood, and other natural and human-made disasters.

Nazarenes are passionate about making a difference in the world by taking the good news of Jesus Christ to people everywhere.

The Church of the Nazarene ministers in 155 world areas. The newest world areas entered are: Africa Region Guinea Conakry and Niger; Eurasia Region—Moldova and Norway. More than 790 missionaries were deployed from approximately 40 world areas in 2008 (including 508 Mission Corps volunteers and tentmakers) with more than 190 missionary kids. More than 11,000 volunteers participated in mission in 2008. In addition to Mission Corps and tentmakers, there were 728 Work & Witness teams and 94 Youth in Mission participants. Churches in world mission areas numbered 11,300 churches (an increase of 8.4%) with 1.2 million members (an increase of 9.4%) in those areas. More than 430 districts have been established around the world with more than 24,000 clergy. More than 30,500 residential students study in 40 Bible colleges and seminaries and 11 universities in world mission areas, and 14,539 extension students receive their education at 30 education extension centers. People are treated at 64 medical clinics and hospitals and thousands of compassionate ministry centers. This missionary enterprise is made possible by the contributions of the global Nazarene family. Nazarenes also engage in starting new churches and congregations by praying, giving, and supporting worldwide volunteers and contracted missionaries.
